The 32-year-old country singer was astonished on stage by Reba McEntire after her performance on Tuesday, May 21, when she received an offer to become a member of the esteemed society honoring country musicians.

"I'm really happy for you, Lainey. You performed an amazing job. The Voice coach,69, said Wilson, "I've heard that I've inspired you in what you've done so far, and I'm thrilled to death if I have anything to do with your career because you are blowing it up."

"I couldn't be more proud to be the one who supports you in continuing to close the generational divide—I was so proud of you at the ACMs the other night. I would like to extend an official invitation to you to join the Grand Ole Opry.

Wilson received a standing ovation from the judges and audience as fellow Opry member McEntire,69, gave her a specially designed belt buckle that read "Opry Lainey 2024." Wilson was obviously touched to receive the award.

"Holy cow!" Wilson yelled back as she gave McEntire a hug. "That's a birthday present right there," she said following her May 19 birthday celebration.

"My family is here tonight, and I'll tell you that when I was nine years old, they took me to Nashville. We went to the Grand Ole Opry and saw Little Jimmy Dickens, Bill Anderson, and Crystal Gayle," Wilson said. "I wanted to play there, I knew I wanted to do it
